Camille is the worst movie i have ever seen and i feel stupider having watched it
This movie was a romantic comedy about a newly married couple and a wife who won't accept she has died in an accident and wants to get to her honeymoon.
I expected this to be a stupid movie with a "power of love" twist, but I did not expect it to be humorless, self important and deluded.

I expected something like Evil Dead, romance style.

    This it was not.

Did you know when you die, you lose all your hair, not because you are decaying and pulling at it would rip skin from your scalp, but because it is a good way to get your husband to buy you something if you throw a fit and cry?

Did you know that if you are in a position of power with the law it is ok to let a dangerous felon skip parole if a family member loves him or her?
    Well, ok, that happens.

Did you know, as a woman, it is ok to be verbally abused, and used to get out of prison and out of the country if you know "deep down inside" he loves you?

Did you know that, as a man, if you are a dangerous felon who verbally abuses a woman who loves you, if she leaves you, and you find her again it is better to commit ritual suicide with the aid of an abused animal than face the consequences whether they may be the law or her decaying on the sidewalk?

Did you know if you have an extremely aged and infirm animal, it is better to coat them in layers and layers of possibly toxic paint and force them to work in a circus rather than put them down if you have a special attachment to them?

Did you know unhealthy copdependency is real love?

Did you know humorless movies about death are made even worse by terrible happy bubble gum pop?
    I did.

my apologies to my christian friends, I have a sick sense of humor. I do, however, find the story of jesus really classic and interesting - his footsteps are a good path to follow

    what a bitch
The plastic television reporter lady from koin local 6 in portland made fun of the college students at CU Boulder for playing "zombies vs humans", while reporting their bright orange nerf guns being banned.
I don't see how this is hurting anyone, or subject to ridicule, while I'm not big on the zombie killer schickt everyone else around me seems to be. It sounds like a creative way to relieve stress caused by school while staying in shape. And its probably a hell of a lot safer and less expensive than normal paintball, which I'm pretty sure the game is based on.

    Bitch.

    Writer's Block: Hocus pocus

Have you ever purchased a lotion, potion, or pill that promised miraculous weight loss, perfect skin, or fantastic sex even though you knew it was (probably) a hoax?

Yes. When I was 11, I was told prozac would make my body pain go away because it was "not real" and "all in my head".
It did not work, I was still in a great deal of phsyical pain, but able to deal with it better because my mood was elevated.

Now that I have taken these type of pills for 10 plus years, my brain is dependent on them to function normally. I believe I would have been fine if my complaints of pain were taken more seriously and addressed as a physical problem and not a psychological one.

I have also tried taking various herbal remedies for all kinds of problems that I am convinced mostly work on a placebo basis.

geneology site onefamilytree will baptise you and your family mormon. do not sign up.
I was looking at the onegreatfamily.com website, and decided to sign up for the for the 7 day trial, but after viewing the end user policy, noticing they are based in utah, I freaked out.
I do not have anything personal against mormons, just their religion. If you want to call me intolerant, fine. I suppose I am intolerant when it comes to offenses against human dignity, even if it is well intentioned.
The lds post mortemly baptises pretty much anyone they can get their hands on. They created a giant geneology record, and I believe this website is a part of this, considering the privacy policy said, "names, date of birth, location, etc" can be transferred to VISITORS of the site who request. Note they did not say members, who connect to their own family's information.
The lds church has baptized millions of jewish halocaust victims, adolf hitler, ted bundy, russians (I am assuming this refers to the russian orthrodox faith)
Due to the controversy, the lds church has added an amendment to their policy about baptism of the dead saying the souls they baptize have the choice to accept the baptism, but according to the ex mormon support site I saw, they claim lds has not changed the actual ritual.
Lds has been asked not to baptise holocaust victims by the jewish community, they said they'd stop, and were caught doing it again!
I do not think these people have changed their policy, but even if they have, it is still just as offensive to me.
Even though I believe nothing horrible would happen to their souls, with or without a choice option, the fact they would basically assume that the beliefs of their living relatives are not valid and not to be respected, even if they do believe they have, "the one true faith" and "there is no other way to be saved".
It is one thing to pray for the souls of the dead, hoping god would have mercy on them, but to BAPTISE them without their consent is scary.

So yea, the tl/dr version of this is if you do not want to be mormon, and your family be be viewed as mormons after you die, do not sign up for onefamilytree.com

    lonliness is contagious?
Thanks to Sullenspirit for the link.

This is interesting, but I am not entirely sure of its validity. A person who has only a few friends may not be lonely because perhaps they are just content with those few and don't have time for others they don't know as well. That being said, I think there is truth in the idea that if someone notices another person is lonely, self reflection will occur, and they might doubt how many of their friends are really "friends" and start to feel lonely

    Writer's Block: Smoke screen

What are your feelings towards smoking? What rights do you think smokers and non-smokers should have?

SHUT THE FUCK UP. Don't open this can of worms again. I got tired of this argument, with valid points on both sides, years ago. Please don't let this catch on again.

On a related note, I've noticed a lot of people are like stfu about twilight bashing lately, not because they do not think it is horrible, but because they are tired of seeing it.
However, a friend linked short snarky recaps of the sagas, and out of morbid curiousity, I checked it out.
It was horrifying. Read more... )
Wow. I think the average teenaged goth kid has less issues than I percieve Meyers as having

It is frustrating and a complicated process on a cell phone, even the kind I have with a tiny keyboard, but if you want to see for yourself, google cleolinda twilight.

Ok. I will stfu forever about twilight now, unless Peter Murphy comes back into the equasion.
